Safari is a modern web browser created by Apple originally for Mac OS X, but is now also available for Windows.

As of early 2008, Safari reports some of the most accurate support for current web standards. While this indicates that Safari is able to render web pages more faithfully, many web sites are tuned to look 'correct' in Internet Explorer and exhibit minor problems in Safari.

Safari's rendering engine, called WebKit, is based on open source technologies that originated with the KHTML and KJS projects that developed a web browser for Linux called Konqueror.
