A visit occurs when a web user with a unique address enters a website for the first time that day (or for the first time in a lesser time period). The number of visits is roughly equivalent to the number of different people that visit a site. This term is ambiguous unless the context is defined, since it could mean a user session or a unique visitor that day. The definition for audits by IFABC is "A series of one or more Page Impressions, served to one User, which ends when there is a gap of 30 minutes or more between successive Page Impressions for that User."
