The Mac, short for Macintosh, is the computer produced by Apple and is a popular alternative to the PC. For graphical design and print production, Macs are sometimes more popular than PCs.
Macs used to only run the operating system created by Apple, OS X, but now Apple has made it possible to also install Microsoft Windows to better compete with the PC manufacturing market.
