Safari is a modern web browser created by Apple originally for Mac OS X, but is now also available for Windows.

As of early 2008, Safari reports some of the most accurate support for current web standards. While this indicates that Safari is able to render web pages more faithfully, many web sites are tuned to look 'correct' in Internet Explorer and exhibit minor problems in Safari. Safari also claims to be the fastest web browser when compared with Internet Explorer and Firefox, but has been criticised for its heavy memory use.

Safari's rendering engine, called WebKit, is based on open source technologies that originated with the KHTML and KJS projects that developed a web browser for Linux called Konqueror.
